Why It Works:

  • Keeps everyone engaged. Since students never know who will be called next, everyone has a reason to pay attention and think about each question.

  • Encourages meaningful peer learning. Team discussions create natural opportunities for students to explain their thinking and support one another.

  • Provides valuable formative assessment. Listening to team conversations helps teachers identify student leaders, misconceptions, and learning gaps.

  • Gets students moving. The physical challenge adds energy and excitement while keeping the focus on learning.

  • Gives every student a chance to shine. Success isn't based solely on knowing the answer—timing, teamwork, and a little luck mean every student has an opportunity to contribute to their team's success.
